Eminem is going to be a grandpa

 Eminem has taken on a new role in his life: as a grandfather.

The rapper announced Thursday that his daughter Hailey Jade, 28, is expecting her first child via a new music video for his song "Temporary" featuring Skylar Grey. At one point in the film, music artist and podcaster Jade gives her father a blue shirt with "Grandpa" written on the back.

A stunned Eminem held up the sonogram photo as Jade smiled and laughed at her father's reaction to the news. The music video features a montage of home movies from Jade and Eminem's childhood, as well as footage from her recent wedding to husband Evan McClintock.

The anime song was dedicated to Jade, with a rap line about the circle of life: "So Hailie Jade, I wrote this song to help you get through life after I'm gone."

Shortly after posting the video, Jade posted a series of photos on her Instagram page of her and McClintock undergoing a sonogram, captioning it as saying that their baby is due next year. Jade and McClintock have been together since 2016. "Wake the wife up this week," Jade wrote on her Instagram page at the time. “We couldn't have asked for a better, more beautiful weekend celebration. So many happy tears, laughs and smiles were shed and so much love was felt.

This is Jade and McClintock's first child.

Eminem previously had positive things to say about Hailey Jade's relationship in a 2020 Hotboxin interview with Mike Tyson. "No kids. Just a girlfriend. She did a great job. She makes me proud," he said of his daughter. More than a year after getting engaged to McClintock, Haley Jade announced their marriage by posting a wedding photo on Instagram.

"Wake up the wife this week🥲💍. We couldn't have asked for a better, more beautiful weekend celebration," she wrote in the caption.

“So many happy tears, laughter and smiles were shed, so much love was felt. Evan and I are so grateful to all the family and friends who have supported us and been a part of this new chapter in our lives as a couple.
